G-KFCN

The Skyranger Nynja G-KFCN is our newest aircraft and in the 600kg class of microlight introduced from 2022. The aircraft will carry up to two 120kg pilots and a full 65 litre tank of fuel. Earlier microlights in the 450kg class were much more restricted.

The Nynja is the Chief Flying Instructor David Young’s favourite aircraft and a great aircraft for training. Heart radio presenter, Ben Atkinson, made some great training videos in our previous Skyranger, G-GRLS, and you can see these on the Kemble Flying Club Ben Atkinson YouTube channel. The aircraft microlight design heritage is more obvious than the Eurostar or C42, and yet it beats these aircraft hands down on capability.

FLYING HER

The Nynja will cruise happily at 90 kts (IAS) but for training we fly mostly at 75 to 80 kts. The visibility is fantastic for a high wing aircraft and the handling delightful although more rudder is required - you soon get used to this. The aircraft does not require constant re-trimming like some others, the flaps work in the correct sense and have a limitation speed of 76 kts which is much higher than the C42 or Eurostar. The aircraft is really stable and has a cross wind limit of 15kts which is as good as most light aircraft.

This is a Type Approved aircraft manufactured by Flylight at Sywell Aerodrome, Northampton. The specification of KFCN is with all the safety features you should expect: strobe and navigation lights on the wing tips, a strobe on the tail and a landing light for conspicuity ahead (not night flying!). There is a transponder and ADSB device which are for electronic conspicuity and an emergency ballistic parachute total recovery system.
