Mark Hayter, is a Flying Instructor and examiner (FE). He has been working with Kemble Flying Club full time since July 2016. Mark cut his teeth flying light aircraft at Compton Abbas 18 years ago and he even completed an IMC Rating (instruments) and a Night Rating.

Mark owned his own light aircraft, a PA22 Tripacer, for some time, building hours, and then completed a light aircraft instructor course at Wellesbourne.  Since then he has amassed over 3,000 hours as a light aircraft flying instructor.

Before the light aircraft instructor training Mark was bitten by the microlight bug and he has spent time with two of the top men in the industry: firstly converting to microlights with Gerry Breen in Portugal and then working for Mac Smith at Popham airfield in Hampshire.

Over the years Mark has flown more than twenty different microlight types, including flexwing aircraft, and he has flown over 7,500 hours as a microlight instructor.

Mark has Fridays and Sundays as his days off.

As you would expect from a former light aircraft instructor and examiner, Mark’s theoretical knowledge is extensive and he is always happy to switch booked flight lessons to ground-school training if it is not flyable. He is also happy to take specific bookings for ground-school.
