Experience the extraordinary thrill of flying in a microlight aircraft, the excitement will warm you, the views will amaze you and flying from Kemble the spectacle over the Cotswolds is unique – wide open vistas, hills and valleys. Look down into the Roman amphitheatre at Cirencester, across the 100 lakes that make up the Cotswold Water Park and swoop around Malmesbury where over 1,000 years ago Eilmer the flying monk made this country’s first ever manned flight with wings he had attached to himself!
Gift Vouchers are redeemable against trial flights and training. Find out more…
Whatever your flight duration you will most days see the River Severn and the Brecon Beacons to the west, the Malvern hills to the north, views across the Cotswolds way into Oxfordshire to the east and the Marlborough Downs and the edge of Salisbury Plain to the south. We will cover the ground at between 70 and 90 mph and yet float majestically as the world moves slowly beneath. We will usually climb to an altitude higher than our mountains and you will see the World is indeed a small place – there is no need to go into Space for that! And, you can handle the controls and fly the plane!
Whether you want to fulfil the dream of learning to fly or to give a special friend an amazing experience with a Gift Voucher for a special occasion, a birthday, Christmas or leaving present, Kemble Flying Club offers the thrill and adventure of flying from a wonderful location at Cotswold Airport near Cirencester, close to Bristol, Gloucester & Swindon.
Established in 1995, the club is now a great success. We have fabulous aircraft and facilities, lounge, lecture rooms, our own hangar and picnic area. Just 120 metres away next to the Control Tower the airport has its own restaurant (“AV8″), where you or your guests can order lunch and drinks. Here there is a good view of all aircraft taking off and landing.

The Chief Flying Instructor, David Young, is one of the most experienced and qualified instructors in the business and together with our other instructors we specialise in training both new pilots and new instructors.
In 12 months time you could be a fully qualified pilot! Find out more about what it’s like to take the controls of an aircraft by buying a short introductory flight or day course. This flying will count as flying hours towards your pilot licence but will be a great experience whether you choose to continue with training or not.
Trainee pilots follow the British Microlight Aircraft Association (BMAA) syllabus of training.
Our school is also Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved for the provision of Flying Instructor Training.
We boast a fleet of modern aircraft and operate a lease share scheme so once you have a pilot’s licence any of the Club aircraft are available for you to hire for a low hourly rate. This is the closest you can get to flying your own aircraft without actually owning one - but without all the expense and responsibility.
Located between Bristol, Gloucester and Swindon, if you live or work in the area then we are the best flying school nearby.
For real fun flying in modern fuel efficient aircraft, with top facilities and stunning local scenery, you need to come and see us!
